Why Isn’t This Menacing Extremist in Custody?
  • In an email, a Calgary police officer told Thomas that after a long consultation, the Crown had decided not to charge Laird.

“This was based on a number of factors, but I believe the main reason being that typically he escalates after being charged.”

    This makes complete sense

  • Wholesome community has heated argument over dog breed safety
  • I'm a strong proponent that it's the owner, not the dog that is ultimately the reason pitty's get a bad rap. I've rarely come across a pit bull that isn't a big lovable goofball that just wants belly rubs and to play tug. But the one's that haven't been seem to have irresponsible owners that either don't know, or don't care about how to properly train their dog.

That said, it's hard not to look at the data and agree that a breed ban would be best.

  • Would you give your phone’s password to your boss?
  • Within the Intune MDM space, a separate partition is created on the device that essentially isolates work apps/data from personal apps/data. I, as a sys admin, have control over the "work" space, but no control over the personal side of things.

We don't have a very heavy handed approach to monitoring usage etc for mobile devices or even laptops and this has been the case with most of my previous jobs.

That said, I'm sure there are IT departments out there with a ton of staff and a big budget that can and will get quite granular with what you are doing on your devices (keylogging, etc)

  • If you work remotely, your bosses are probably using software to track you. Here's how they'll catch you slacking off.
  • I've worked in IT for 20+ years, only in cases where management thinks a particular person isn't working, it doesn't happen. Cost plus IT departments are generally understaffed and don't have time to monitor this kind of thing makes it a non-starter
