On my main laptop I use KDE, it's smooth and gets the job done. On my tablet, I use GNOME. It runs well, and is touch-optimized. On my other laptop, I use gnome for no particular reason.
I bought two of these a few years ago and they are really reliable. USB 2.0 so they are slow as shit, but I still use them to install linux.
validating the integrity of the installation
The ISO file should be validated, and many installation medias check hashes.
it can be disastrous if you don't pay attention to what you type in
Valid point, even I get nervous when entering dd.
I don't think that dd alone should be used as a backup
Absolutely it shouldn't. I said primitive backups, which are not a replacement for things like snapshots. DD backups are space-inefficient, easily corruptible, and often result in broken systems.
Already switched to linux. I still have one windows drive that I haven't booted for about a year. Haven't relied on virtual machines or anything.
My favorite TV UI:
I bought a wear os watch deliberately because I thought I would enjoy modifying and customizing it like a regular android phone. In reality, I don't use it much more than for fitness tracking. I'm going to buy a garmin instinct and not change for the next 4 years.
Yeah it's a great game in every aspect...
It's answers just don't feel as good as chatgpt. Sometimes they are incorrect, and sometimes they are lackluster.
I don't understand how people can use Gemini. I have always had bad experiences with it.
DDG does have its issues like giving me random news articles from my area if it cant find anything relevant...
I miss old mrwhosetheboss who was more technically knowledgeable. He was talking about android modifications like roms that he probably would never talk about today.
This looks nice but what license does it use?
I feel like for the most part though using something like balenaEtcher is so much easier.
Take 5 minutes to learn to use DD, and you'll never need to install etcher again. Also DD can do primitive backups of drives, and so much more.
The "smart"ification of stuff has got to stop. Nobody asked for wireless connected robots that don't let you connect to your own server even. Maybe if these worked with home assistant this wouldnt have happened, because home assistant devs are more competent that big corporations.
I only play a certain part of games, I don't care for rpgs or top-down games as much as I like first person shooters, racing games, or simulation games.
With that being said, here's my list.
- Red Dead Redemption 2: The best game I have ever played, hands-down. It's story and gameplay are both perfection.
- Trepang2: A less heard of game, but a really fun first-person shooter which is like a mix of Crysis and Doom.
- Mafia 1 and 2: A great series with solid stories and gameplay, these are very enjoyable to play. Just don't buy Mafia 3. It's like if Ubisoft made a Mafia game.
- Arma III: A classic military simulation game which I spent hours on hours in. I love exploring the maps while engaging in realistic shootouts, especially with mods like ACE which make it even more realistic and immersive.
I hope google gets fucked up the ass with this, because the play store is a cancerous app store thats giving android as a whole a bad name. I trust F-droid about 50x as much as I trust the play store just because of it promoting honesty and transparency from app developers. At this point, if I want an app that's not on f droid, I usually just won't get it.
Anyone know about lineageos tv? It looks cool, but there might be some issues I dont know about not using it yet.
Just curious do you know why the F-droid repo says the app has trackers?
typing this from firefox on a tablet ;)
Space broadband on weapons is not something Elon Musk condones
At Teuteuf Games, we develop websites and apps that are entertaining to our users like geography and photography games
Teuteuf just added four new games!
Anyone know of some libre tactical shooters? I really can't find anything, just wanted to ask the community if they knew of anything. Closest i've found is either Unvanquished or Assaultcube. At this point of my search, I'm ready to accept that there might not be a game.
Edit: It is! I got the WiFi replaced and functional.
I need a confirmation that this is an accurate diagram, I have a A+E-key WiFi adapter, and I need to use it to replace a E-key WiFi adapter. I cannot find much information about compatibility, and need some confirmation before I stick my adapter in a type-e slot.

I've made this poll due to a debate over the definition of "base" Android. I consider it to be the AOSP, but I would like other's inputs on it. Thanks for voting!.
So... I just set my keyboard in KDE settings to Dell Latitude(i have a dell latitude) and now i can press the volume keys and they work, and pressing fn lets me press F* keys. But, my menu doesn't open. I've set it to alt+f1, alt+volume mute, and meta+a, but no luck. I am on plasma 5.24.7, using trisquel gnu/linux(triskel variant). I am using X11.
thanks for the help!
I know I can spoof my useragent, it's just ridiculous that such a massive app doesn't support an equally massive browser.
I've got a pretty old macbook pro, I would assume it's intel. I'd installed refind and debian on it then just left it for a while. No damage that I know of, but I did move houses. Now, I plug it in and the power cord shows green, and the battery indicator shows blinking fully bars. I have tried all the keyboard things to reset, but no luck. Is this thing fucked, or are there any possible solutions? Thanks for the help guys!
So I distinctly recall reading a reddit thread where someone woke up with someone else's photo on their cmf watch's custom watch face. I remember a few other people saying they had the same issue, and that's about it. I have tried pretty exhaustively to find that thread, or even any information about the issue, but I just can't seem to find anything. Does anybody remember this, or have any more info? Thanks a lot!
As the title says, I want to play the Epic Games version of Just Cause 4. I have got the same version of wine as the version Lutris uses - wine-ge-8.26 - and I've copied the wine prefix to get the same files exactly. I run Just Cause 4, and on Lutris is runs at an easy 60fps on High, but from the CLI it runs at about 20fps on Low. Anyone have an idea for why this happens?
