One of them tried it, they had a Monopoly and tried to push their Basic (not naming names) but it didn't take off. I can't believe I am saying this but I kinda wish it had worked.

I don't do PHP. But I used other JetBrains tools for Go, Python and Java and they are very helpful. The AI Assistant is pretty good for explaining code. I am not in anyway paid by them. Good Luck

This is one of those things that are so easy to over think :) the Play/Pause button (I THINK - NOW I AM NOT SURE) by convention shows the Desired state because you press Play to Start but in other cases I would say it's usually the otherway around. Ie Check Box has a tick/cross etc when it's True/On/Yes/etc. I think the Play/Pause is a convention that is the exception

THIS!! Start with something simple like Python. I don't think you need to be good at math to be a good programmer. If you understand the concepts of math theny you will be fine. I heard Rita Wilson say the other day something like "If you keep practising something you can only get better at it". (not a direct quote) Find a Problem then solve it. That is the best way to learn.

Use the OS you are most comfortable with. When it comes to programmming try and learn 1 "thing" at a time. If you trying to learn Python and how to use Linux as well as Python then you learning 2 (or more..) things at once so stick with what you know for now. If you are comfortable with Linux (or Mint as you say) then stay with that because I have found running Python on Windows is a Pain but that could just be the environment we are using. I spent a few minutes trying to find a page with some code and all I found was Why, Why Not, what is different etc and not any code examples so I am out.
