I m not the depressed one but feel powerless atm.
  • Depression is tough. Being a good partner during it is really hard. Make sure youre taking care of yourself while you're trying to help him.

SSRIs are different for everyone and its important to evaluate how they might be affecting him with a professional. Keeps encouraging the therapy!

Alcohol can also affect the way SSRIs interact with their mood. It may provide temporary relief for the tough feelings but it will in, nearly all cases, result in a dependency cycle. It will bring his mood down and have him wanting more to readjust.

I'd ask that he abstain until therapy and meds can be evaluated/adjusted if necessary. Its a tough ask when things are that dark for someone, but it would be helpful to go into therapy with as close to a baseline mood as it can be.

There's going to be better days and worse days. For him and you. Try to help each other through the next few months. You might be pulling more emotional weight, but don't look at it that way if it can be helped. Something easier said than done.

    Good luck.

  • I'm looking for a privacy respecting vacuum robot
  • I'd definitely recommended valetudo, but wanted to mention that eufy has some easily repairable non WiFi vacs that work reasonably well with no smart features. Eufy has a rough track record regarding privacy with their other smart products but can't spy without a connection.

  • Requesting folder encryption recommendations
  • I use gocryptfs because it can be used on Android (DroidFs) and Linux desktop so I can sync my shares.

There's a few GUIs for desktop for it that you can try out and see if they help with your use case.

  • [Meta] Y'all should get a scrobbler
  • Of course. I used the last.fm import and it worked great. Always happy to offer open source solutions when I can. I haven't used last.fm in probably a decade so I'm not too sure how the features differ but listenbrainz has been great for me.

  • [Meta] Y'all should get a scrobbler
  • Listenbrainz is a great alternative to last.fm and is supported by Spotify and there are ways to use it with various offline players. I think you can work it into Google Play music as well, or you could before it became YouTube music.

  • Has anyone used or contributed to OpenStreetMap?
  • StreetComplete is perhaps the easiest and maybe best way to contribute as it is on rails. Constraining input for newer users is great. If your area is saturated with information I look at that as a win for the open community as a whole, but I understand the desire to add more.

There is SCEE which has advanced features and more editing options but I haven't explored it yet. I am just happy something like StreetComplete exists to allow me to contribute in a meaningful way without adding garbage data.
