Having a conversation with gnome devs is a lost cause. Look at this image. He doesn't address the code of the pull request, he closes it because of his fragile ego. Fucking hilarious.
Unfortunately you cannot just ignore gnome even if you don't use it. They control the development of gtk and force their retarded ideologies on it which affects any app written in gtk. You cannot escape the cancer that is gnome unless every app you use is written with qt, which is impossible.
It's the default de only because of red hat's influence. Most of the "major" distros are probably made by red hat. Microsoft has successfully sabotaged the linux desktop by making gnome the default de.
