What seems to be happening for millenials I know is the addiction to money and treats. I hear a variation of "I hate my job, capitalism is terrible obviously but I've never made this much money before." They support radicalism and 'burning down the system' in the abstract but fear or attachment keeps them from actively resisting the structure.
But like you said I know plenty that foregoe those pleasures or use their job to attack the system of all ages, that gives me some optimism. Not everyone needs to take serious action, I don't really blame any individual for being scared or unsure.
"obviously you are just a bad faith tankie troll, Good Day Sir™"
How do they change the price on them? Can it be a cyberpunk era already where we hack them with a burner phone or something?
I agree "DON'T COME AT ME WITH NO PETITION, BRING ME AMMUNITION"
Wasn't there a court ruling that forcing someone to unlock their phone was unconstitutional? The fourth amendment seems to indicate a warrent at least is required to search someone's papers, in the modern era that should apply to phones, obviously the constitution is meaningless if they want to do whatever but still.
Edit: in Riley v. California (2014) the Supreme Court unanimously decided that warrentless search of a cellphone during an arrest was unconstitutional.
An antisocial ghoul that would report a ziploc of chips stolen would probably see that kindness as some kind of aggressive gesture, anyone who would do such a thing is living in a different social reality.
What fucking inhuman people would care about such a thing. Few things make me feel like burning it all down than this sort of behavior, like when stores throw out day-old bread and lock the dumpster, fire people for taking home wasted food, it's despicable. It's a reflection of their hatred for people and society.
This is one of my favorite Jesus quotes, because it complements the idea that no one but god is free from sin. So no one can judge the sins of others but god and Jesus, but basically all the actual Christians that love it are ignorant on their own religion and think they are free from sin unlike those dang gays and such.
Thank you, I love it 🐦⬛
If zoologists or whoever say "we decided to call their group a wake because, why not, it's fun" I get it and I am on board for that
I wouldn't be surprised if it's motivated by detecting illegal drugs, and informing allocation of police resources based on that, not any actual concern for people. I don't know if they do that or if it's feasible but that was my thought.
This is unrelated to this post but what is the practical reason different types of animal groups have different names anyway? If it's just for fun I understand, that's fine. But a buncha birds are a flock, buncha cows are a herd, groups of predators are a pack, etc. That's the English I use.
I can imagine some third party displays with ad detecting and blocking software built-in, this will of course be illegal
You know you can go reread your comment if you are confused.
Okay let me be more accurate, sorry. You said you dislike people that call themselves antifascist more than people who murder Jewish people and queers.
People against Nazis are worse than Nazis, is literally what you are saying.
Could YOU care to explain? Do you have some issue with antifascism?
What do they say? Because I am a lifelong antifascist and communist and we love Jewish people but shun Zionism, maybe you have conflated the two.
When I was a kid we had a lockdown because two men with camo and rifles were walking past the school. The police calmly approached them and questioned them, determined they were on their way to go hunting and let them go without incident. Needless to say, they were white.
At least you could argue Rittenhouse was a dumb teen, this motherfucker is 50, an off duty security guard with kids. And is it any coincidence that the person killed had an Arabic sounding name? It doesn't mention the ethnicity of the victim but I'm sure the guy saw the group of teens and thought "It's my duty as a patriot to stop Radical Islamic Terrorists"
Pet parrots given the choice to video-call each other or watch pre-recorded videos of other birds will flock to the opportunity for live chats, new research shows.
I love imagining these birds having friends online they can call up whenever haha. Pet birds suffer from loneliness very often so this is fun to see.

Sorry if this isn't the best place for this question, I browse from lemmy.dbzer0 on firefox and am subscribed to a number of hexbear instances, but there seems to be some that just won't show up from my instance for some reason? In particular !literature@hexbear.net, for whatever reason if I search it just will not show up, other hexbear instances show up fine though. I'm not sure which might not appear other than literature.
Does anyone know if this is caused by my client, my instance, or the literature community limiting it's visibility? I'm a bit new to how the fediverse infrastructure functions.
**EDIT: Thank you for the help y'all, I still haven't got to it lol, I might try FumpyAer's suggestion and maybe it will help others that might have this issue.
