Is it just me, or have the comments on Lemmy become extra aggressive over the past 3 months?
  • Because the intention of the post feels slightly disingenuous and attention seeking. “People on the internet can be mean” is nothing new. It’s low effort at best.

It’s fine. The internet is full of all kind of different content. Just explaining my view.

  • Outlaw County Wooo
  • I’d say Sturgill Simpson ( clearly influenced by Waylon ) was one of the best things to happen to country music recently. His music caught the eye of a ton of people who normally would never pick up a country album. Except country music didn’t want anything to do with him. There’s video of him hanging outside the CMAs ( not nominated ) after just winning a Grammy for “best new country album”. Love that dude. Records whatever he feels.

  • I actually don’t care about the gold / silver ranking system. That’s not even my concern. During the rise of proton, all I wanted was the required version of proton, any command arguments, possible game folder alterations required to play the game and a pinned version number of the game it worked for. I found fixes for multiple games early on and tried posting multiple times and I think maybe one went through. People were posting incorrect and dangerous fixes. It was a mess. It is a mess.

  • From the very beginning, I have always believed that the design of protondb has been consistently and unequivocally terrible. Despite acknowledging the ingenuity of its idea, I cannot shy away from emphasizing the consistent shortcomings of its design.

  • What is your experience with Nobara?
  • No one else brought up the importance of backups, supported software ( outside gaming ), installation process or real world problems with hardware compatibility.

Taking my own advice, I guess it’s not a big deal. It’s just an OS. But I’d argue what I mentioned ARE the problems people experience when dipping their toes into Linux. But I guess OP is going off vibe.

  • I don't see anything wrong with how we used to be
  • It was weird back in the 90s in the Midwest when metal heads got called "weirdos" for hanging out in record shops, wearing comfy baggy clothes, and rocking band tees. But then in the early 2000s, sappy, emotional pop rock became the new trend, and guess what? The same people who used to make fun of metal heads started dressing like that teenager in the picture and hanging out at Hot Topic in the mall. It was ridiculous.

  • He's not a real dr, but he sure is a real jerk.
