No, the IDF is much worse.

  I think there are some good arguments about what counts as an ethnic cleansing when the population is entirely homogenous.

  Hamas is the one ethnically cleansing. The IDF isn't. Remember, Hamas has been very explicit about wanting to kill every single Jew. It's even in their charter. The IDF meanwhile does not want more Jews to die.
