This reminds me of the ultra edgy survival vaguely-zombie-themed game "Rust" which had white supremacist gangs and the like which took a massive beating when a new patch of the game made people's skin colors and other attributes based on a procedurally generated seed that was unique to each Steam account.
Remember that one rebuttal to the review where (CW: mention of rpe) :::The reviewer said "so basically, FATAL is the date rpe RPG", and then he responded "Another faulty conclusion. Where is dating even involved?":::
The guy was That Guy who was all like "How come elves who can live thousands of years have the same level of experience as humans whose bodies are only able for about 50 years", or "how come everyone is an adventurer", or "how is it that there's almost no racism in a world based on medieval Europe", and then made an age-based level system, a job system where 95% of them are pointless, and a racism system where there's only three races that are not "kill anyone else on sight" in the entire game, without any thought as to how this would work as a game.
When I played GTA Online I made a character sort of loosely based on Omar Little from the wire, I got called the n-word so often on mic it was surreal (I’m white IRL).
Rust is great. Still a fair amount of nazis. Just makes it easier to prioritize bases to destroy. 14th most played game on steam right now. What was edgy about it? Always seemed pretty standard to me.
