That's what's happening to a society, if they are threatened yet unchecked. Israel managed for decades to turn a legitimate threat to a complete dehumanization of the Palestinians, and because Holocaust, nobody really reigned them in while it was happening.
It is astounding that after all the Jewish people were put through, Israel looked at the Nazi playbook and copied it.
Israel isn't systematically exterminating Palestine. If that were their goal there would be no Palestine and they wouldn't have international support. Palestine only exists because Israel isn't willing to treat them by that playbook. Jews couldn't leave Nazi camps, Palestinians can leave any time they wish either by sea or by the border with Egypt when it is open. The goal of the Nazis (and of Hamas for that matter) is genocide via mass murder, the goal of Israel is pacification.
Rather, this is a population that lost a brutal war 70 years ago and refuses to negotiate for a viable peace, instead choosing to launch murderous terror attacks against civilians with great regularity the entire time. In an effort to end the conflict Israel has been exerting leverage over their defeated opponent and limiting the damage they can do via containment. Self-defense. Still the attacks continue, still Israel makes great efforts to adhere to international law, usually notifying the public about their targets beforehand so civilians can get away. Meanwhile their enemy continues to intentionally target and murder civilians. And the whole time, people like yourself blather on about how defending themselves in this awful situation makes them Nazis.
I think Israel has shown great restraint. Were this happening to the US, I doubt we would be so civil. The few times we have been attacked by foreign powers on our soil we absolutely lost our shit.
Edit: I had read that Gazans could leave through the blockade by sea but not return, that was inaccurate, Gazans cannot leave through the sea blockade presently.
I read elsewhere that they could leave through the blockade but not return, but upon further reading that appears to be inaccurate. Thanks for the correction, I will update my comment.
The 300 people Egypt lets cross a day?
That's odd considering 800 Gazans left through the Rafah gate on Oct 11. I didn't realize it was normally subject to quotas, but it makes sense. I imagine Egypt is trying to prevent another situation like in 2008 when Palestinians forced the gate open with explosives and flooded into Egypt. Taking on too many Palestinian refugees didn't work out great for Jordan or Lebanon and caused civil wars and terrorism problems for them. I suspect Egypt wants to avoid the same fate. They are disinterested in negotiating for Gaza to be returned to them presumably for this reason, millions of radicalized people coming into your country who literally elected a terrorist organization that won't negotiate to represent them doesn't sound like a great recipe for stability.
In 2021, pro-Hamas outlet Al Mayadeen reported that the organization had refused offers for complete lifting of the blockade in return for a long-term truce following the 2021 Israel–Palestine crisis. source
I provided a lot of citations supporting my claims and I admitted when I was wrong.
Enlighten us then. It would be a better use of your time than glib insults, which are not compelling at all.
