Maybe but it seems unlikely that people 2000+ years ago would have a way to refine pure oxygen.

I don't think oxygen makes stuff auto-combust. It's very flammable and might corrode stuff, but still needs a flame.

Increased presence of oxygen does lower the auto ignition temperature, for some substances to room temperature, so, yes and no I guess.
