Wonder how long that will stand. Also hasn't 1337 been deemed unsafe, or is it back on good terms?
Commenting so I can follow thread, I have been using 1337 for a good few years and has no idea it got into the bad books.
As far as I can recall, EMPRESS called them out for linking malware to her crack releases. Please someone correct me about its details as I don't fully remember it.Edit: Looked it up, there was a torrent with a bitcoin miner injected that 1337 mods appearently didnt remove which caused the whole ordeal.

Safe and official are not the same thing. I'm not sure there is any pirate site that is 100% safe when downloading applications. You are always taking an educated risk based on the history of the site, the moderation, the users and the application in question. It is not a good habit to think of things as clean or unclean, safe or unsafe, because circumstances can always change and you need be actively on the lookout for warning signs.
1337x is good. Open it with tor and get rid of all the shit. Then get the magnet.
1337x is known to host some game cracks with malicious bitcoin miners built-in. If you don't play cracked games, maybe it's nbd, but it still stands that you shouldn't trust them.
Haven't found one yet. In general you shouldn't trust any crack. That's why you have to check every game with virustotal and restrict internet acces to all of them. Fitgirl posts her repacks there too.
Any public site is bound to have some just download from known safe uploaders and you're fine
I haven't had a problem with it besides the click stealing malware ads that uBlock gets rid of
