People can knock this and call it "poverty LARPing" but it's still preferable to filling landfills with Temu bullshit while "affluence LARPing". It's probably better for not only the environment but also to one's financial stability and mental health to reuse, reduce, and recycle as oppose to being beholden to some influencer that decides to rent a lambo for a day for an insta shoot
Agreed. I'm told there was a time when thrift was considered a societal virtue, not just something you did if you had no other choice. I'd rather take pride in making do with what I have, fixing things when they break, and reusing parts from broken stuff in new projects than in trying to demonstrate wealth or buy my way to contentment.
