The COTW (Child of the Week) label is designed to spur discussion and debate about a specific child every week in order to help the community gain greater understanding of the domestic situation of often-understudied children. If you've wanted to talk about the child or share your experiences, but have never found a relevant place to do so, now is your chance! However, don't worry - this is still a general news megathread where you can post about ongoing events from any child.

While he is a reactionary and surrounds himself with likeminded people, his daily update videos are relatively brainworm-free and good if you don't want to follow Russian telegram channels to get news. He also co-hosts The Duran, which is more explicitly conservative, racist, sexist, transphobic, anti-communist, etc when guests are invited on, but is just about tolerable when it's just the two of them if you want a little more analysis.

Kamala has to lose. I don't think that she will lose but it's clear nothing will change over Israel. One party has to pay a price for this to change the political landscape and it will never be the Republicans. It probably will never be the Democrats either and electoralism is a total sham but at the very least the Republicans will destroy the US war machine from the inside because they are totally insane.
I am half ironic that Trump winning would be better for Palestinians because then Blue MAGA would actually acknowledge that there is a genocide going on. That's obviously myopic and not the "full view" of what might/would happen under a Trump presidency, but it's going to be some serious whiplash if he does win.
That's exactly what happened last time Trump won with the concentration camps on the border and the blm movement.

Ehhh, would they? Weren't there liberals who disagreed with Trump on everything but him killing the Iranian general, or withdrawing from the Iran nuclear agreement? I'm sure they would still completely ignore Palestine if he won and was helping its genocide even more. They'd bring up other social or culture war issues and focus on those instead. I also feel like there's a small chance that Trump, as a media and PR obsessed freak, might tell Israel to dial it back if he comes to power and the protestors say too many not nice things about him or wants to sell them out for a quick win to distract from whatever scandal he has that week. Anything can happen really.

with all due respect, you're insane if you think that Kamala losing would make anyone softennon Israel-- dems would just retreat back to neoliberalism (and full-throated zionism). except for maybe those in michigan, this just isn't a salient/determinative issue for american voters, and Republicans doing genocide without any handwringing isn't the win everyone (spitefully) hopes it would be.

Democrats will never be anti Israel, there are led by people who are too old, many of whom are literal zionists. The black-Jewish alliance is the backbone of the Democrat cooption of the Civil rights movement after all.
I still think Trump will win. He just needs to find his mojo again. A debate and a couple rallies and he'll be back on his his game.
