My kids (8 and 5) prefer to play on my PC instead of their Xbox. They claim being closer to the screen allows them to see what's going on in the game much better.
Yeah, it’s great that today it’s all interchangeable. There’s just so many ways to play games and so many different setups.
It was much more limited when computer hardware and tv setups where so different back in the day.
If anything trying to make out fine detail on a TV screen that is far away sounds bad for the eyes, not having the screen as close as a regular PC screen.
