Kind of? Humans are not as monogamous as other actually monogamous species.

Monogamy will always have a place for the very simple reason that:
- Polygamous relationships means more in-laws, both from having more than one partner and each partner having a possibility of having more than two parents.
- Nobody wants to deal with in-laws.
Imagine having to juggle around 9 in-laws (3 partners with 3 parents each). Fucking nightmare fuel.

only if you kitchen table it, there's lots of ways that polyam relationships can be arranged. plus in laws are only a problem if they're a problem, some people's parents are chill.
