news.sky.com 'World's largest botnet' taken down as alleged Chinese mastermind arrested and $29m in cryptocurrency seized
Cars including a Rolls-Royce, two BMWs and a Ferrari - as well as luxury watches - are among assets that could also be confiscated.
Looks like the botnet was mining on the two largest pools.

Best time to start monero mining on your old PC!! No more unfair competition
Unfortunately, expected payout here is about 1/4 of energy cost with a machine from less than 5 years ago.
You gotta look at the future price of Monero ;)
Buying XMR from exchanges with the money it would cost me to mine would result in me having 4 times as much XMR in the future at that value, so it's still not a viable proposition
Might as well just invest then…
