I feel like this could become a Gorguts song with enough harmonic complexity. Sounds pretty great!
I just made a bandcamp for some weird electronic stuff I've been experimenting with (there's guitar too) . You guys are probably the only people that will hear it
fun stuff. i'd like to hear more!
thank you tons! I'll post back when I have more
honestly a better endorsement than I could have imagined, thanks so much!
these are grooves. taking notes
Orthodox black metal. Wuddup
fuck dude. that 2:48 riff in Diadem of Wound can keep going if it wants to, it'd keep me from having to rewind like ten times.
😎
love to hear those analog instruments :party-parrot-mask:
i miss denton. dont go to austin unless you have to. denton is way cooler tbh.
Hey y’all I came out with this like 2 years ago but never really did anything with it. I was too self conscious of it to share with friends and family and really had no luck promoting it. I’ve been listening to it tonight. With the amount of time between when I released it and now, I feel actually pretty proud of it but bummed I wasn’t more serious about promoting it. But then again ‘promoting’ is a fuckin bullshit rat race so whatever lol. Let me know what you think:

Hey! You're on the front page! This is great. I'm glad I found it. Leutra's Sack is my favourite track. Like if early eels was produced by dave fridmann.
Are you still working on music? Would love to hear more :penguin-dance:
I know it’s insane! I’m really grateful. I’m still working on music. In fact, I’ve been working on a couple of songs with @Interloper I think our collab stuff is pretty cool but in progress. I’m going to try to release more new stuff, probably just as singles. Any releases will come out on my Bandcamp/Spotify/ SoundCloud etc.
Thanks so much for taking the time to listen!! I fuck with the eels. Love electro shock blues. And any band that is associated with the paradigm shifting cultural event known as shrek is legendary in my books.
is this place dead :( wish i discovered this thread sooner
after covid hit i lost my job and have just been working on creative stuff for a spell... heres a alt/sludgey shoegaze thing <:(

Recorded a space-doom scribble just now, could use some feedback on where to take it. I think it's got legs if I can do something more interesting with the drums and the synth.
More ambient space doom! I think this one's complete. I like the simplicity. shoutout to Elaine Radigue.
I think there's some interesting potential here for a slow burn of a song, maybe with a cascade of building instruments or a lonely, raw vocal telling a story. I'd like to hear what would happen if you really lean into some of the long-term movement with some swells and recessions.
Nice, I'll see what I can do in that direction! Appreciate it.
Is this thread still alive? My band announced the split, date’s set, first song’s released, and it’s the first weird one the drummer and I wrote.
It was a fun song
beats from a lifetime ago https://soundcloud.com/squeegeeman/space-take-me-to-the-moon
Fucking good stuff, folks!
ok this actually rules and i love it, good work!
this is very cool. favorite tracks: kombat and u never know whos listening. that impossible to chew gristly bass in u never know whos listening is really good. i do kinda want to hear you spit some kind of distorted bar over a vacuous beat break in the middle of each of them though.
Can this be updated more regularly? Weekly? Monthly if that doesn't work?
OK I'm doing it!
I haven't made anything in a long time but this was my most recent coherent release
Quite proud of it now, though I wasn't overjoyed at the time. Would love to hear ya thoughts as I've shown literally noone. :heart-sickle:
Wow, this is sick! I especially love Cosmic Children.
The only thing holding you back imo is the mix. I'm no pro engineer or anything but it sounds like you got too much low-mids muddying up the vocals, and the leveling seems off, like sometimes the guitars are super loud and overpowering the vocals. There's also some harshness in the guitar tones. To me, Hour by Hour sounds like it was mixed better than the rest, and even though I personally find the vocals still have too much low end, they sound like they're mixed better. It might also be the low end of the reverb that's causing that too. If you're not already, you could put your reverb on a send, so that way you can EQ out the low end without affecting the dry vocals.
It sounds like everything was recorded well though, just seems like some minor mixing could fix things up. But I love the creativity and originality in the songs, and the vocalists are really good too.
Thanks so much for taking the time! I really appreciate the feedback too. I've learned some since, but I have lots to learn still and this rocks.
:sankara-salute:
Hi, don't know how often people look into this thread, but I've been making music for about a year now. Here's some tracks in an anti-doxxing sort of way:
I really like the third one
I like the third one a lot as well. That washed out high pitched piano like sound sounds really cool contrasted with the super distorted bass
Oh hey, thanks for listening. I'm hoping to make more tracks like it, but with a lighter mood and a major key. I think it could work. I have a few ideas floating in my head for a full album but I get kind of lost keeping a consistent sound.
I finally came out with my first song!!! Let me know what yall think, I’m so excited to have something out. EDIT: it’s kind of a dark found-sound triphop type thing. soundcloud.com/possum-king
I like the beat fuckery. Flesh out the low end a little bit more. Make my subwoofer kick.
Another doom snippet! Really enjoying listening back to this one. Kind of intimidated by the idea of trying to do something more interesting with the drums.
This rules. I wanna scream over it a la deerhoof. Great job!
Yo is this thing still on? Grungy nugaze stuff Maybe you’ll fuck with it 👉👈 https://gliatx.bandcamp.com/album/pinned-down-hutchins-st
:cat-vibing: very vibey
thank you conrad :Care-Comrade:
My goodness this is rad
Hey comrades I’m starting a project called Navels. This is a separate account for said project, but ive been on chapo since 2016. I’ve got two records I want to record and release and I’ve got close to 50 other song ideas I’m trying to organize/release as well. I’ll be posting works in progress here. I am poor so right now I’m working with what I have and hoping the songs will connect with people, even if they don’t sound quite as good as they do in my head. Hopefully y’all will dig what I do, and I look forward to finding new music here as well.
i like it a lot. definitely has a mother-y feel. I'm always partial to cave music in video games

I like about midnight a lot good work.

my dream pop band's third EP, lucky to have recorded right before covid hit:
yo didn't see this, thank you 🙏
This is from my hip hop phase, lacking vocals and proper mixing but I like the sound
Another hip hop track sampling Beatles and the Rolling Stones. I like the base, no clue what I was doing with the record scratching though lol https://m.soundcloud.com/hicquodiam/over-me

greetings comrades, just uploaded a new song here: https://soundcloud.com/banningdabomb/one-day-it-all-just-ends
it will be on spotify shortly. <3
It's a pretty nice song. o7
Thank you :)
Recently did a non-subgenre specific DnB mix , a 2nd Techno Mix, and at the beginning of the month I also did a DnB mini-mix that mostly feature half time tracks.
Hope y'all enjoy, and any feedback, criticism, suggestions, etc. are welcome of course.
I am once again posting mixes/mashups to the OC thread.
In terms of mixes, I made a 146 bpm Techno mix where I tried out a new EQ technique I learned that involves turning the highs all the way down, while at the same time turning the mids all the way up. Used it to transition in a couple places, but it also makes for a nice standalone effect in the middle of a song. Did it a few times in the first song, once very near to the beginning and should be pretty obvious when it happens.
In terms of mashups, I made 2 mashups with Moe Shop - WONDER POP. First one is with Tim Reaper - Sequence 2, and the second one is with Globex Corp - Globex Corp DJ Tools A1.
This thread is basically dead, but there's a decent chance someone'll eventually comes across this sometime down the line, so as always, feedback/criticism/suggestions/etc. are welcome.
Idk if this counts as OC or not, but I got a DJ controller recently, and I recorded this Liquid Drum & Bass Mix yesterday that I'm pretty proud of. Obviously I'm still really new to DJing/mixing so I messed up a bit in one spot and some of the transitions between songs are a bit rough at times, but I thought I did pretty well all things considered.
Also have another shorter practice mix that I recorded if anyone's interested: https://youtu.be/L7X3TcyRK_Q
Edit: I also recorded a Jungle Mix last night. If anyone wants to give feedback on things I did well or not so well, that would be much appreciated.
I don't really do mixes or listen to much drum and bass, so i cant really give you feedback, but i love you drum and bass mix.! have it on while i have coffee
I had a listen to the Jungle mix, here's what jumped out at me:
I couldn't really tell how much you had your hands on the EQ controls since I don't know the original tracks. Would be interested to hear about your approach to that.
Thanks for the feedback. Everything from the Benny L remix of Dark soldier and onwards was mostly me winging it, so it makes sense that most of the problems would be after that lol.
28:04 is a great transition
Tbh, I felt like I had kinda fucked up that transition when I did it, and 28:04 was the result of me just cutting Creator out before it got messy, so good to know it sounded fine.
21:19 made me jump lol
Yeah, I probably should've brought that in slower. Dread Jungle Techno is a track I've had a little bit of trouble mixing though 'cause the downbeat in the waveform is slightly behind where rekordbox says the start of the measure is, and it kind of always sounds a bit off whenever I try to beat match it despite any attempts to adjust it's timing with the jog wheels. Also, the sample at 21:19 is easily the loudest part of the track up until that point, so it's a bit jarring even just listening to the song by itself lol.
In terms of EQ controls I only messed with the lows, mainly just baseline swapping on drops. You should be able to hear it at 7:26 and 23:49.
some rok music friends and I have made over the years: https://floralprint.bandcamp.com/album/mirror-stages
Back with more Hardcore Jungle Techno mixes. Have 4 to share at once this time. I also started giving them names, since only calling them "Hardcore Jungle Techno Mix #x" feels a bit weird.
Feedback is appreciated. Just giving them a listen would also be appreciated, 'cause making these mixes is fun in and of itself, but it still kinda sucks if I'm the only one listening to them.
Gonna go ahead an post the rest of the mixes I've made so far.
my split’s been announced, when we pick a song to share I’ll post it!
Ayy, back with more content. This time I got:
A Drum & Bass Roller mix, a 140 bpm Techno mix, and a DnB mashup between Fascad - Rollover and MC Bassman - Heavy & Dark (Bou & Simula's Mix). As always, I only started mixing/DJing 2 weeks ago, so constructive feedback is both needed and appreciated.
Also, are there any rules against posting OC outside of this thread? I haven't seen any rules against it and I kinda want to maybe post a mix or mashup I'm proud of every once and a while if that's ok, but I can't recall any other users making individual posts for their OC, so idk if it's allowed or not.
Edit: And now also a Jungle + Hardcore + Hard Techno mix
This isn't what I normally listen to, so I worry any crit I have would completely miss the point.
Just wanted to say keep it up. Loved the d&b roller mix and will definitely come back to it. :sicko-spin:
o7
This isn’t what I normally listen to, so I worry any crit I have would completely miss the point.
Yeah I get that lol. I know there's a couple places I messed up (specifically there's two songs I know I brought in too soon and I can definitely hear when it happens both times), but as long as you can't tell for certain that anything's wrong, then I'm fine with no criticisms.
