The laugh track to make it seem like All In The Family (for some reason?) makes it so surreal. Comes off as satire because it's so obviously stupid.
- it's meant as satire, but they think satire is just when you do the thing but badly
  
  that's why they do the bit at the end about the freeze frame where the characters are trying to remain still, even though that's not what a freeze frame is and it doesn't make sense to do.
