The ethnically diverse northeastern suburbs of Paris are traditionally a bastion of the political left – and of voter abstention. With France’s legislative elections just days away, activists are battling…
Just got back from Paris and it was hit hard by covid era. She has lost a bit of her magic. It was not clean, smokers outside of EVERY building, no one seems to care. Sidewalks in ill-repair. The travel facilities like taxi stands are not prepared for the Olympics. Someone there told me everyone is terrified so many people will be coming into town.
I love Paris but I wish there were more French people there. Many many immigrants from Africa, Russia and other places. The festival of bread needs to go. Thank goodness for a few stunning galleries and bakeries that made it worthwhile. Hoping my lungs recover from the second hand smoke soon. Not sure I will be going back for awhile. Sorry to be so negative.
Good point! Because people can’t smoke inside any longer, they are all congregating outside all of the shops, restaurants, and stores and it’s a long path of smokers that one must walk-through as you go down the street.
This has to be trolling. Paris has come a long way since the late 90's early 2000's. The amount of work that has been put in to renovate the city, increase pedestrian areas, anti dog shit laws anti cigarette laws the massive clean ups. I am French and I love to shit on Parisians and their city but this is fucking disingenuous.
