How scammers convince Americans to drain their life savings into crypto fraud schemes
Cryptocurrencies have become a major tool in "pig butchering" scams, where fraudsters flatter their victims over weeks or months.
I had someone try that with me and strung them along to see just what their deal was.
They promised that their crypto had limited windows of availability where it would suddenly jump up 3x or 5x in value.
So I looked it up on an independent site... steady price 1:1 with the US dollar. No spikes. So if I had invested, say, $1,000 the best I could get out of it was $1,000.
But that's not how the scam works, they want you to invest through their portal which is a one way switch... money goes in, it never comes out.
