Not just that, but this guy has been so over the top idiotic about everything that it's hard to keep any level of give-a-shit for long about any of it. His presidency was exhausting because of it.
"Forgetting". They do not want to start pulling that thread and I suspect that it is because of instructions from above. No one wants any focus on it. Republicans because of why would a republican wanna kill Trump and general gun control? Not an area where they want speculation to start running. As for the Democrats, investigation into what the fuck the secret service was doing will land on them being the sitting government. So under the carpet it goes. Lone maniac and nothing to see. Move on please.
I actually find it really comforting that it's going back as if it never happened. Don't get me wrong, I wish the bullet had been a skosh to the right, but hear me out:
America does not give a shit about Donald Trump. The country doesn't care if he lives or dies. The media cares a lot, but the country doesn't think it matters that he almost got shot. He didn't get a bump. He didn't get a sobbing tearful day show host wondering if he's ok. He didn't even put out a commemorative "Trump got shot" bullet and let's be real, that's something he could have done himself. Nobody cares. He's not important to America.
I'm glad he's still running. If a Republican is going in office, I want it to be Trump. I want project 2025 handled by trump, as he's the moron who's most likely to fuck it up
Trump could have done what W did and hand off everything to the VP, and spent all his time golfing, grifting and shit talking, but, because he's a narcissist, he has to control everything and he's horrible at it.
Which just goes to show that money makes money. This fool, despite his incompetence, bankruptcy, etc., still has money some how.
The writers were getting desperate, what with a season people seemed to genuinely not like anymore. The "Trump Gets Shot" arc was a last gasp for attention. But then they fired that old goofy guy playing the president and replaced him with his younger, smoother comic relief character. It was something of a reversal, sure, but it got us back into the old 2008 "Hope and Change" arc, which was a much bigger hit among younger viewers.
And its not like they just retired the middle aged bumbling white guy, either. That new Tim Walz character is pure charm and really works against the smarmy wall street guy they've brought in as this year's new villain.
@UnderpantsWeevil@Persona3Reload The new psycho owner of Birdsite Cafe where everyone hung out was too much of a downer and drove viewership away. You gotta give the fans something positive
It kind of feels like him getting shot at by a registered republican was his campaign 'jumping the shark'. I don't condone it by any means but there's a level of irony to how the last few months have played out
I disagree. Trump surviving the asassination gave him a huge publicly. It should also be mentioned that Biden resigned shortly after, so this event really shook up the overall trajectory of the election.
Sure, until the 3rd to last episode when the writers have run out of ideas, so the character makes a big production about how he was shot at and feelings and stuff and hopefully it’ll be enough to make us care again till the finale.
