The Florida Department of Law Enforcement announced Thursday eight residents of St. Lucie County were charged in relation to a scheme to falsify records to allow high school football athletes to attend and compete for schools outside their residential boundaries.
This coverage oddly doesn't mention that William Vega, brother of police sergeant Robert Vega, is the assistant police chief, or was when both were suspended with pay, nearly a year ago.
