Switching to Timeshift (LM)

GitHub - linuxmint/timeshift: System restore tool for Linux. Creates filesystem snapshots using rsync+hardlinks, or BTRFS snapshots. Supports scheduled snapshots, multiple backup levels, and exclude filters. Snapshots can be restored while system is running or from Live CD/USB.

the original dev of timeshift retired. so Linuxmint is the new maintainer..

From what I can tell, Pop!_OS does not ship their own version of timeshift. Instead, it comes directly from Ubuntu. So if there is a change in maintainers, it should be reported to Ubuntu:

- They are in sync with the new maintainers (LM). Their latest build is from 2024.07, which coincides with what LM has in their repos.
