At least two women in Georgia died after they couldn’t access legal abortions and timely medical care in their state, ProPublica has found. This is one of their stories.
Hey, I’ll say it: if my one of my sisters or my partner was murdered like this (and it absolutely fucking is murder when you withhold lifesaving care from someone because your imaginary friend told you to) due to bureaucratic idiocy and political culture war bullshit, I’d probably decide domestic terrorism against the people who made those rules was a great idea, and, you know, do the things that follow logically from that conclusion.
This is the dynamic these imbeciles are creating. They are playing with fire, amongst many other things. It’s only a matter of time before someone’s grief and fury at the death of their family member is forged into a weapon aimed at the heart of these fucking Nationalist Christians.
This. A lot of people don't realize this whole forced birth wave is funded by the ultra wealthy. Families like the Walmarts and Sacklers are using the religious right to ensure that there will always be a lower class. For example, Walmart makes their money from exploiting poor workers and being the only place poor people can shop. But when the poors have access to education, contraception, and any other essential products/needs Walmart is weaker. And you know because money is power they've have more control over the government than a women dying from a non viable pregnancy.
This is what force birthers want. If a women doesn't create the perfect baby in her womb, she must have done something wrong and deserves divine punishment. Not even joking. Pro choice is pro life! And also, this women wanted more children and she's dead now. Dead and unhealthy women due to not having access to abortions have way less children than if we just have them access to fucking medical care.
In my region, because our third ancient migrants stayed from the time the second migrants were violently wiped out until the whitey settlers traded with and not of them, we start every official meeting thanking them for the heroes they portrayed in their flawless oral histories.
Why doesn't the DNC start every congress by mentioning the victims of this cruelty once each, like
Amber Thurman, 28, died when routine care was denied to her because it's also used in abortion procedures. She leaves behind her own children who will never know her, and I thank Governor Kemp for his concern for Ms Thurman's family in these trying, tyrannical times.
Not that I'm fully up to date on all the madness this anti abortion stuff has caused, but I think these are the first actual deaths I've read about since the Roe ruling.
Lots of horror stories, people who will never be able to have children again etc, but no deaths.
Such fucking bullshit. I wish we could come back and charge the lawmakers with murder on this one.
Edit: And I'm sure there's been others, these are just the first I've seen.
The article pointed out that her death was weeks after the Roe V Wade was overturned. The committees that evaluate maternal mortality rates generally have an approximate two year backlog. So we are just now at the point where we can begin to see the impacts in official numbers.
