I can kind of sort of get why Israel would be launching a war against Hamas right now. I cannot even kind of sort of get why they think now is the time to attack a totally separate military opponent.
They do have precision guided missiles but didn't use any in this attack..
While AP does call them missiles in the article they are actually unguided heavy rockets.
And as I was trying to figure this out I discovered that most news sources use the words rocket and missile interchangeably, often in the same sentence, and it's fucking infuriating.
Actually they ALWAYS say Israel has missiles and Hezbolah/Hamas has rockets. I believe they do this to make it seem like they are barbarians hiding behind a hill shooting off handhelds. I am sure they have more sophisticated systems and to keep reporting it that way is biased and inaccurate, despite whoever they might support. 🙈
Yup, iirc, they've been firing rockets on and off this entire time. Thankfully, the iron dome keeps them from killing civilians, eventually someone is going to get hurt
I block all these communities. The anti-israel pro-gaza sentiment here is off the charts. Cya 'interesting global news' and all the other recent 'news' communities.
