  Women who performed a risque(for the time) dance known as the Can-Can. Ever seen cartoons of four women in a line kicking their legs up? That's what's being referenced.
I love that the elixer didn't just give them beards, but also top hats, lit pipes, and suits! I forgot how powerful magic could be in this world.
