Climate activists block Dutch highway for fifth day
Climate activists blocked a major traffic artery in the Netherlands for the fifth consecutive day on Wednesday to protest against government subsidies on fossil fuels.
Been keeping my eye on this. Incredible effort.
We need more! Especially in the USA. Although, building barricades might be a safer way to blockade roads since you can just drop them and go. No people there to hurt.
Anything you can just drop any leave, will be just picked up and removed. It does not take long. Putting people on it does a few things, mainly media attention, by putting quite litterally a face to it, but it also slows down police a lot, as they generally do not want to kill people. So chaining a bunch of people on some intressting stands, is way more effective then droping some barrels on the road and leaving.
