AITA. I'm subbed to a few alternatives on Lemmy, but they're all dead. Sure, I could start it myself, but it needs other people to post to actually be worth it.
Most of the things I like to follow have communities I want are here. But there are a number where there aren't enough subs to make it a real community yet. Often this is because there just isn't a ton of OC to post because they're not super popular. Like my favorite band (!pearljam@lemmy.world), my favorite video game (!oxygennotincluded@lemmy.world), or my favorite TV Show (!taskmaster@feddit.uk - the show is quite popular though)
I'm hoping for a more active Counter-strike community. There are a couple out there, but not much activity. It's pretty much the only thing I still check regularly on Reddit.
I miss the crew from r/woodstoving. It's about the time of year to be posting our wood stacks and testing the moisture content and commenting about cooler nights making us think about firing up the ole stove!
Imma big Real Housewives fan. And there were two hella active subs back at the old site. But over here...I'm pretty sure I'm the last person who posted anything, and that was back in July-ish.
So I wish the Bravo peeps had migrated over with the rest of us. I haven't been on a Bravo forum in months.
I still peek at Reddit occasionally for r/vexillology & some related & similar communities. There's just no presence of them here that I've seen so-far. I hope they can manage to migrate, because it's just about the only thing that keeps me going back to that pit. It'd be nice to see more local communities, too. There were whole thriving subreddits for different states & cities, not so much, here.
I've got some stuff I'm working on that I want to add post to that. I really hope the r/Vexillology community moves to there. For now, it looks like it's mostly one user listing historical flags. Which is nice, but it's missing the whole thriving community & the fun contests.
An a further note - I want to contribute to the existing communities here, but it's been an issue of time for me. Especially for starting a community. I'll try & find the time to post.
