Twitch’s changing guidelines could have a real economic impact on Vtubers

Twitch making rules which mess with streamers and/or viewers? [sarcasm] We are shocked! [/sarcasm]

Seriously Twitch ioo is not a service worth bothering with any more.

They took away all the fun features, locked people out of communicating (whispering) without a phone number (which they shouldn't be trusted with), which then ruined the ability for privacy conscious mods to communicate with viewers and instead of reversing the change made a workaround.

There is also no direct way for mods to get paid which is appalling.

They have been tightening the belt, so to speak on 'family friendliness' i.e. slut shaming and it always feels like you're on the tip of the spear with them. Worse 'business' we ever interacted with.

They still haven't put pronouns into the actual platform, they have become ever worse with adverts and they don't give a shit about the many fascists on their site using it to spread hate.

We really need an alternative that cares and doesn't have all these ridiculous restrictions nor makes changes without asking what both streamers and viewers need, or at least listens to them instead of ignoring them.

Honestly I'm pretty glad. I have little faith in twitch banning all that ehag juvenile incel farming because of how much revenue it brings, but anything to dial it down vtubers et al is a good thing.

I should note that all of these people (twitch streamers) are multimillionaires who leech off the attention span of the youth and would be more useful to society mining lithium, serving mcribs or working sweatshops, but using sexuality to do so is just so much more exploitative and it definitely oughta be banned on a federal level along with sex """work"""
