An angle I read on this, is most likely the ones who are citizens (and allowed to vote) were affluent enough to emigrate legitimately and don't want illegal poor people coming over. Latinos in Americas tend to be more conservative/ perhaps religious? I am told.
The biggest takeaway from the election so far for me (the votes are still being counted), it doesn't look like trump got any new votes, he lost something like 1-2 mil from last time but the main issue is that Harris lost 15mil voters.
They are going to get a very unhappy surprise if a cop stops them and they either don't have an ID or the cops decide it's not authentic (or says it's stolen).

So after having a Democrat president that opened the borders, the only area to vote Democrat was the only area that has a well-staffed Border Patrol presence (El Paso / Ciudad Juarez) easily explains this.
