In a very weird scenario where all humans suddenly die and all other animals don't, it probably will be cats or pigs, or other domesticated animals that came with humans everywhere, certainly not oCtOpUs lol. They literally can't live on land.
It'll be crows. Crazy smart, can solve puzzles and manipulate objects, and not just one time... They remembah. Plus they can fly. If they develop opposable thumbs, it's almost guaranteed they're the future of intelligent life on earth.
