  • It's been lame, ngl. Having issues at work, stressing out about the deluge of garbage happening politically, feeling totally out of control of my mental health and like I have no recourse to address the spin out (single, no friends, isolated antisocial weirdo, not even a therapist b/c no insurance and not wealthy enough to afford out of pocket).

    • The world is fucked up. With that in mind, perhaps the best resistance would be to enjoy it regardless. πŸ™ƒ Vive!

    • I feel your pain but i cant even imagine being in your situation. Things are so crazy and you arent crazy for feeling stressed out. I still believe the heart of your nation is good even if the current administration does not reflect that. The good people will get back in control.

      • That's the odd part: there's a lotta really good people here, and I know it sounds odd, but a lot of what's happening is BECAUSE of kind-hearted people... who nonetheless are simply so very, very dumb. :-P What manner of idiot would put us in charge of ourselves...? :-P

It's gonna be an extremely wild ride before they wake up though:-(.

  • Coming off a code sprint; about to release a small patch update and then take a much needed hiatus. Despite being February, it's been decently warm outside, so have been planning to get a head start on some outdoor projects I want to get done this year ( and finish a couple that are leftover from last year, though knowing me, probably not in that order πŸ˜†).

Also trying to balance those projects with the looming threat of being unemployed. The org I work for is largely (though not entirely) funded by agencies this administration is currently gutting. So, that's fun. I've been here 7 years and was planning to retire from here, but that's looking less and less likely every day.

    • I am so sorry to hear that. My situation is similar and wondering what the next day, week, month, and so on will bring. I am not all that emotionally competent, and dislike change. Welp, I guess it can't be helped though.

  • I played a couple of single-player rounds of Steel Division 2 today. Fun, but kind of "solved" the single-player stuff at this point. Does make me wish that Eugen would keep working on the AI, sell it as DLC if one wants. In fairness, Steel Division 2 does have a lot more work on the single-player side than their earlier games.
