Samsung Galaxy tri-foldable only available in select markets, will not feature crease improvements
The upcoming tri-foldable Galaxy smartphone from Samsung will only be available in a select few markets to begin with and it won't feature any improvements to the creases.
My only gripe with tri-foldable are those screens.
Even with Fold series, inner screen gets scratched pretty easily compared to normal glass screen. I don't see tri-foldable screen handling that any better. Otherwise tech is cool.
I recommend against being an early adopter. I'm a bit worried being a slightly late adopter of folding phones – I waited for pixel 9 – since I have already warranty replaced the two month old phone once for a complete failure of the internal screen (they said it was water damage, I replied with their water resistance rating)
I jumped to foldables when Fold 3 hit the market. Never looked back, I really liked that form factor. Tri-Folds are another story, as long screen isn't hard and scratch resistant as normal glass, I could never even think about getting one.
And there is higher price to pay and some things you need to look out (ex. inner screen) when being early adopter. I knew this and I don't have issue with that, but it's not for everyone.
I had to replace inner screen protector ~once a year with Fold 3. Don't know how Fold 6 will handle that. ..tho I never paid a cent for inner screen protector replacement. First time was paid by Samsung (it was under warranty), second time shop broke screen while they were removing protector, so I got new inner screen + battery + screen protector for free. Third time I had to replace that protector, I sold my phone before I could do that and switched to Fold 6 🤷
Really curious to see where this goes. It's a real shame that they banned Huawei in the States. They are doing some wild things with foldables.
