  • This is the best summary I could come up with:

Circuit Court of Appeals panel said Google had not shown "exceptional circumstances" to overturn an order by the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation letting Texas return to the Lone Star state to pursue the case it filed against Google there.

Texas' lawsuit at Google's request was consolidated in Manhattan federal court in 2021 with about two dozen other complaints from other plaintiffs including publishers and advertisers.

Texas leads a group of states, including Florida and Missouri, that accused Google in 2020 of abusing its digital advertising dominance and is seeking damages and an injunction to stop alleged anti-competitive business practices.

In a statement, Google on Wednesday said it was "confident that any court will agree that the Texas Attorney General's case is wrong on both the facts and the law."

A lawyer for Texas, Ashley Keller, did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Wednesday.

The U.S. Justice Department and a group of other states separately sued Google this year in Alexandria, Virginia, federal court.
