  • I bought an old 1950s/1960s Armin Trosser hand grinder from ebay a while ago and use it every day. Works great and looks lovely in my opinion

  • I tried one almost new (a “new vintage” from Zassenhaus that sells new for 80€!) and it was so miserable that I couldn’t believe it: grind setting changed while spinning and not smooth at all. Metal burrs, but unusable…

  • Is it exhausting to grind coffee ?

I'm asking because I also have a vintage coffee grinder and it's definitely a workout

    • Hmm the beans don't normally get stuck and there really isn't a ton of resistance, so I wouldn't call it strenuous. It feels like maybe the amount of forced to scrub a dish kind of hard. It's not difficult, but the time it takes can be tiring if grinding a whole pot.
