What TV show intro will you never skip?
What TV show intro will you never skip?
What TV show intro will you never skip?
Moone Boy
Where's me jumper? Sultans of Ping. Absolute banger. Will never skip. May replay multiple times.
Abbott Elementary cos it's seconds long
avatar and legend of Korra. they're just banger intros
All of them, I never skip the opening. But my top 5 favorites are
Land of the Lustrous (my most listened to song on YT Music for 3 years running)
Orb: On The Movements Of The Earth
And for something that isn't weeb shit, Psych
+1 for Psych.
the office
I always like that jazzy intro tune to "The Nanny".
Too Many Cooks
🎶Too many cooks!🎶
I never skip intros. I love them all.
Raised by Wolves, the best intro ever made IMO. And currently Dope Thief, also superb.

Dope Thief: https://youtu.be/XJiC12bioso
Serial Experiments Lain
Battlestar Galactica (the remake with Eddie Olmos) . It changes throughout the series, and it highlights important bits.
I'd say Firefly too, but that's just because it's awesome. Airwolf was the same way, back in its heyday, and it was cool in ways that knight rider wasn't.
But I'm here only for Battlestar today. So say we all.
Apothecary Diaries Season 1!
The white lotus. I didn't like season 3's theme as much as the first 2's but I still like to listen
I was unsure about the season 3 one at first but liked it more every episode.
Star Trek Next Generation
Now with doppler effects!
From, True blood , Lost
Bobs burgers
Family Guy
Star Trek Enterprise
And as an italian 90s kid, all cartoons on air in the 2000s
Are you kidding about enterprise?
IT'S BEEN A LOOOOONG ROOOAD
no really I completely understand it can sound cringe but I enjoyed singing it almost every time
Hogans Heroes
Ducktales wohooo
The lack of Neon Genesis Evangelion on this list disappoints me.
Why though? Apart from the fact that every next episode the theme starts to hit differently, but still matches the tone of the overall theme.
Resident Alien, mainly because they change the graphics for every episode and throw in a gag.
Lots of good mentions. Especially The Expanse and Bluey.
I'd like to highlight the masterpiece that was Andor S1 intros though.
Les mystérieuses cités d'or / mysterious cities of gold
Parks and rec'
Futurama
The Sopranos.
Star Treks Voyager and Lower Decks.
whoever skips the x-men intro deserves to be thrown into the ocean
DO YA REALLY WANNA DO YA REALLY WANNA TASTE IT??
King Of The Hill
The Expanse. Really enjoyed the visuals of progress with that great soundtrack.
The best part about it is the subtlety. Tiny shifts across a season. Few changes in visuals across the entire run.
It is the most lovely theme song I've heard.
it is extremely well done
Almost every single show I watch. I'm weird in that I almost never can skip a TV show intro. Only exception I can think of right now is the short continuation of Batman the Animated Series they did just before Batman Beyond since they didn't change the intro to match the show.
Silo. I like the music so much!
...and also: Gargoyles!
One thousand years ago, superstition and the sword ruled. It was a time of darkness, it was a world of fear, it was the age of gargoyles. Stone by day, warriors by night. We were betrayed by the humans we had sworn to protect, frozen in stone by a magic spell for a thousand years. Now, here in Manhattan, the spell is broken and we live again!
We are defenders of the night. We are gargoyles!
Firefly
You can't take the sky from me.
Excellent theme tune.
Severance. Maybe it's just being a hobby 3d artist that makes every frame of that delicious intro so captivating
Know where can I find a breakdown of the symbolism behind the intro?
For me, it's hard to watch. I feel like I got bungeed down into the deepest depths of the bottomless Uncanny Valley, coming back up covered in oily black ooze, but I look down at its just my hands, my clothes, my normal skin. I think I'd appreciate it more if I knew what and why what was going on.
Not a breakdown of the whole intro exactly, but this breaks down the melody musically and makes some comments about how it relates symbolically.
Visually stunning and a very catchy song too. I found myself watching it at least once every 2-3 episodes while binging.
The Sopranos!
Commendatori!
Dan Da Dan
I actually think their song for Mashle season 2 might be better - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FZN98D5_N4M
Edit: should've mentioned the band is Creepy Nuts
I watched this a couple months ago and the song still randomly pops into my head every so often. Really cool show, with an exceptional intro.
That’s on Netflix is it any good? I always say the title like DAN DAN DAN like a dramatic reveal
I enjoy it, it's a decent twist on "nerd boy meets girl who brings him out of his shell" that mixes japanese occult with aliens, a small bit of high school slice of life, and shounen anime type battles where cleverness wins. Characters are written well, imo. Good humor.
That said, the season ends about an episode and a half past where it probably should have, on a particularly ugly cliffhanger when there were a few better cliffhangers they could have ended it on just slightly earlier. And there are two scenes, one in (I think) the first episode and one in the last episode of the season that are needlessly exploitative (not the best description) of a teen girl.
Girl is moments away from being raped by an alien probe, with alien tech-penis visibly inching towards her in the first episode. In the last episode of the season, same girl who has now regularly been a self sufficient ass kicker gets cornered in a mixed hot springs and for arbitrary reasons suddenly can't defend herself as she begins to be assaulted. Her head is held under the water as it cuts to black and the season ends. Just yuck. Apparently in the manga it's not even the end of a chapter, so the anime runners went out of their way to end the season on that.
That said, part of the inciting incidents of the show is a ghost stealing the male mc's penis. So it's not entirely one sided in terms of the sexual ick, but it seems to dwell on the shit against the female characters like it wants that to be titilating. There's no cheesecake/fanservice shots of the male MC mid-sexual assault, but there are of the female characters.
I was about to post the same.
Gravity Falls
I knew someone would beat me to it.
What We Do In The Dark.
I'll never listen to the song for no reason on its own, but I'll never skip it either.
Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers
Game of Thrones, Djawadi's theme is amazing and captured the tone perfectly.
I love the theme too, but South Park ruined it for me. I can't listen to it anymore without hearing "Wiener, weiner-weiner..." in the back of my mind :(
Star Trek: Enterprise
I am an evil man and I love to torture my roommates.
Yass, at first I hated it but it's my favorite intro and overall Trek now 😄
I think you'll enjoy this if you haven't already seen it.
Fuckin awesome, thank you
It's been a long road...
Bojack Horseman!
Back in the 90's, I was in a very famous TEEEE-vee show...
Frieren: Beyond Journey's End. That song is catchy as all hell .
Peacemaker. The same catchy song and love the dance routine.
Bluey
I love that they tweaked it in the Bingo episode! Especially how everyone is caught off guard when Bluey goes after Mom and Dad
Short, sweet, and catchy. They did a good job with that one.
One of my favorites.
Babylon 5. First show to change the intro with each new season, IIRC.
The intro to yu yu hakusho. Love the song.
Also intro to the Ozarks. Again I love the song.
ER.
Granted I haven't watched ER since it was on TV in the 90s, but I have gone out of my way to hear that glorious theme song so many times!
Black Sails
Bear McCreary's music is such a masterpiece.
Definitely. The parsons farewell is great too
Arcane.
Oh, oh the misery!
GUMMI BEARS, BOUNCING HERE AND THERE AND EVERYWHERE!!!!
Also, literally eating gummi bears right now.
Teletubbies
Star Trek (TNG / VOY)
Right there with you.
