Cowboy Bebop

The Expanse. Really enjoyed the visuals of progress with that great soundtrack.

- The best part about it is the subtlety. Tiny shifts across a season. Few changes in visuals across the entire run.
  It is the most lovely theme song I've heard.

- I watched this a couple months ago and the song still randomly pops into my head every so often. Really cool show, with an exceptional intro.
- That’s on Netflix is it any good? I always say the title like DAN DAN DAN like a dramatic reveal
  
  I enjoy it, it's a decent twist on "nerd boy meets girl who brings him out of his shell" that mixes japanese occult with aliens, a small bit of high school slice of life, and shounen anime type battles where cleverness wins. Characters are written well, imo. Good humor.
  That said, the season ends about an episode and a half past where it probably should have, on a particularly ugly cliffhanger when there were a few better cliffhangers they could have ended it on just slightly earlier. And there are two scenes, one in (I think) the first episode and one in the last episode of the season that are needlessly exploitative (not the best description) of a teen girl.
  Girl is moments away from being raped by an alien probe, with alien tech-penis visibly inching towards her in the first episode. In the last episode of the season, same girl who has now regularly been a self sufficient ass kicker gets cornered in a mixed hot springs and for arbitrary reasons suddenly can't defend herself as she begins to be assaulted. Her head is held under the water as it cuts to black and the season ends. Just yuck. Apparently in the manga it's not even the end of a chapter, so the anime runners went out of their way to end the season on that.
  That said, part of the inciting incidents of the show is a ghost stealing the male mc's penis. So it's not entirely one sided in terms of the sexual ick, but it seems to dwell on the shit against the female characters like it wants that to be titilating. There's no cheesecake/fanservice shots of the male MC mid-sexual assault, but there are of the female characters.

Game of Thrones, Djawadi's theme is amazing and captured the tone perfectly.
- I love the theme too, but South Park ruined it for me. I can't listen to it anymore without hearing "Wiener, weiner-weiner..." in the back of my mind :(

Severance. Maybe it's just being a hobby 3d artist that makes every frame of that delicious intro so captivating
- Visually stunning and a very catchy song too. I found myself watching it at least once every 2-3 episodes while binging.
- Know where can I find a breakdown of the symbolism behind the intro?
  For me, it's hard to watch. I feel like I got bungeed down into the deepest depths of the bottomless Uncanny Valley, coming back up covered in oily black ooze, but I look down at its just my hands, my clothes, my normal skin. I think I'd appreciate it more if I knew what and why what was going on.

- I love that they tweaked it in the Bingo episode! Especially how everyone is caught off guard when Bluey goes after Mom and Dad
- Short, sweet, and catchy. They did a good job with that one.

  Yes! It sets the tone for the show so perfectly. Just to satisfy my curiosity, I pulled up the first episode on Hulu... the new music gives a completely different tone. It's terrible!

There's something new to see every time! I've only just got back into watching the early seasons again recently.

- I think that Banksy's couch gag broke something in me. I stopped watching the Simpsons about then.

What we do in the shadows

Battlestar Galactica (the remake with Eddie Olmos) . It changes throughout the series, and it highlights important bits.
I'd say Firefly too, but that's just because it's awesome. Airwolf was the same way, back in its heyday, and it was cool in ways that knight rider wasn't.
But I'm here only for Battlestar today. So say we all.

The lack of Neon Genesis Evangelion on this list disappoints me.
- Why though? Apart from the fact that every next episode the theme starts to hit differently, but still matches the tone of the overall theme.

Band of Brothers. The intro is so long, but feels like an important part of the whole experience.

- Even when I'm knowingly watching another HBO show, I always hope that the Sopranos theme comes up after the HBO static

  I'm sure that there are others I used to like - I'm an old fart - but this is the only one that occurs to me now.
  For some reason, my long term memory stopped in the late nineties. I'm convinced that there are series I've watched that I loved that it's going to take a replay to remember that I loved the incoming theme.
  There were several cult shows on BBC2 and ITV back then: Thirty-Something, a few about UK barristers, Moving Story. Damned if I can remember any of the theme tunes.
