earmarking $45 billion to detain 100,000 migrants
$450K per migrant. I wonder which MAGA-sponsoring corporations are going to see that payday, and I wonder what % of it they'll be kicking-back to Orange and Elmo? We've got a lot of citizens here. Kidnapping them at government expense will be extremely profitable, even at today's rates.
the airline services that specializes in deportation, and the companies help building the cecot/cecot like prisons are also benefiting.
Politicians sit in the “House” and argue. Meanwhile Kilmar Ábrego García is unjustly sitting in an El Salvador prison. How many others? The US is ignoring the Fourteenth Amendment and ignoring Judges. You’ve got an inept, elitist, felon who, despite his bravado doesn’t have a clue about business: Donald Trump was involved in the ownership of several casinos in Atlantic City, New Jersey, during the 1980s and 1990s. Over the years, he faced significant financial difficulties, leading to multiple bankruptcies related to his casino ventures. Specifically, Trump’s casinos filed for bankruptcy protection on four occasions: Trump Taj Mahal: Filed for bankruptcy in 1991. Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino: Filed for bankruptcy in 1992. Trump Marina: Filed for bankruptcy in 2004. Trump Entertainment Resorts: The parent company of his casinos filed for bankruptcy in 2009. These bankruptcies were part of a broader pattern of financial challenges Trump faced in his business career, particularly in the casino industry, which was highly competitive and subject to economic fluctuations. THIS is the president of the United States??? What a fucking joke.
Once again, it's not deportation. When a U.S. citizen is forcibly transported to another country, it's kidnapping and human trafficking.
Technically, the legal term is Exile, IIRC. But doing that without the backing of legality is also what you said.
And when such violent crimes are done for political or ideological reasons, those crimes become acts of terrorism.
Nazis. The Republican party is dead. They are Nazis.
Don’t dead name them. It’s disrespectful.
Don't forget the people that vote for them. Fucking idiots and traitors.
Not forgetting the non-voters who only vent their frustration on social media. Or with their ridiculous useless peaceful protests. Just watching democracy being dismantled and only blaming the other side... by doing nothing you are 100% responsible. Finally start riots while it's still possible.
You call MAGA stupid... yet you seem to know the German history and still only peaceful protests come at most... The technique of suppression is so much more advanced... Drones etc are a dream... but just keep watching... Germany only made it out with the help of 2 world powers. Nobody can help you later!
We need a new name for them besides Nazis. People start calling them Nazis and then you got to put up with bad faith arguments with people claiming they aren’t as bad as Nazis while completely missing the point.
Can’t demean them either by calling them ass hats or bastards….. How about confederates? All of em ain’t nothing but confederates, going against Found Father values.
How about that? You defend the confederates and people begin thinking your nothing but backwater country folk who still believe in slavery
They're not Nazis, but they ARE fascists.
Nazis were big into public works and pretending to be socialist, both of which are anathema to the American Fascist Party.
All Nazis are fascists, but not all fascists are Nazis.
I would argue a more accurate description for the US far right would be proto-fascists. Primarily because they haven't fully rejected open elections and they are still somewhat constrained by US judicial institutions.
Although I expect this will change in the next 24 months.
How can anyone support Republicans anymore
Because the republican mantra is "not my problem if it isn't happening to me".
You also overestimate how much people pay attention to current events. Most voters have no idea what's going on.
Because a large part of Americans are pieces of human shit.
Or are brainwashed with Republican owned media, which is most news networks and various things with news in the title. I've met and talked to people who are Republican and most are inadvertantly ignorant; they try and keep up with what's happening but because of where they look they end up with misrepresenting and missing pieces. Left News is also missing pieces, so people tend to talk past each other, which doesn't help either.
The MAGA members I know are totally down to send folks off to foreign prisons. They don't think the laws or bill of rights apply to "illegals." How do they know the person the federal law enforcement officers have detained is the right "illegal" without going to court? They don't care.
Why would traitors protect American Citizens? Republicans need to have a reckoning.
Deporting citizens is already blatantly unlawful. This is just icing on the cake.
Let’s deporting Nazis then.
Not surprising.
