I'll buy iPhone 15 if this ever comes out. But I don't see any news about it yet. Is there an estimated time?
3rd party as in apps not created by Apple? There are tons of them. I am replying to you from my iPhone using a 3rd party Lemmy app.

I don’t think they will. That’s antithetical to their walled garden approach to an app ecosystem. Perhaps if the EU forces them in some way.
As I remember, EU forced them to do it. IDK details tho.

Whether for good or bad reasons, Apple likes to have full control of the devices they are selling. This includes what can be installed on them and how.
