US: A single brand new Wii U console was sold during September 2023
Circana's (formerly The NPD Group) Mat Piscatella has relayed some new sales data for the United States for the month of September, indicating that a single Wii U console was sold in the country.
This marks the first time a brand new Wii U console has been sold since May 2022. It remains unclear which retailer sold the Wii U, given that the console was discontinued a few years ago. It is possible that it was a misplaced unit that was rediscovered by the retailer.

Whoever bought it is going to have a great time, I loved the WiiU. The dual screen situation was so good and I'm sad Nintendo didn't stick with it.
It was not „so good“ rather just good. I loved the gamepad and the controller, the ergonomics were on point. I mean they did port nearly every good game on to the switch, which is nice, but it won’t bring back playing through Xenoblade Chronicles X for the first time.
I just started playing xenoblade x again on an emulator, and with all the graphics mods, it's a stunning experience in 21:9 ultra widescreen
I hope the salesperson made a good commission.
Yet Nintendo has policy to never lower their prices no matter what.
