I have a couple, but they're wind resistant, odourless for about 4 days without washing, quick drying, and durable. The buttons are also studs and covered to help with water proofing, but allow for opening it up to cool down.
There's a big difference in a $100 shirt styled to look rugged and a $100 shirt actually designed for long periods in the wilderness. They probably look the same to most people from afar.
Suggested brands or styles for the "actually designed for long periods in the wilderness" type?
Poncho(short and long sleeve) and Triple Aught Design(long and short sleeves, multiple materials and features.)
Both companies mostly manufacture in America. Poncho makes their stuff overseas, TAD makes most of their stuff in the US. TAD is definitely more technology packed and feature rich. Poncho is simple and durable.

Curious as well, that sounds like a dope shirt

Yeah, they're pretty much a staple in men's wear outside of offices.
I don't tend to favor button ups, but I have one shoved in the back of my dresser somewhere. Been years since I wore it though.
