Iran's theocratic establishment has imposed restrictions on women's dress since a popular revolution deposed the secular and Western-backed Shah in 1979.

However, I likely remarked on lack of womens rights in Iran, which anyone remarking lack of womens rights in Islamic countries, is not racist, but just stating facts. Facts that I'm sure some people are upset about. I used to be friends with a woman from saudia arabia who told me personally about her trials and tribulations and trying to unsuccessfully escape the country many times.
