[solved - clay pidgeon thrower] What is this tool I found at a thrift store?

The two arms are sprung so that as you push on the handle they separate, and then return to position.

- This is the correct answer. It's a hand helt clay pigeon thrower for skeet shooting.
The black metal part reminds me of my futon couch, has a similar mechanism for when you fold/unfold it. Could this be an arm for some kind of recliner chair?
