Ornithological society to rename dozens of birds — and stop naming them after people
Birds in North America will no longer be named after people. The American Ornithological Society announced the move Wednesday.

Does this mean we'll need a new version of the game Wingspan?
While this will make things harder for existing birders, it should make learning bird ID easier for new birders. At least some of the time all the birds will have descriptive names (seasonal plumage variations, sexual dimorphism, and age will still complicate things).
