I'm honestly quite happy mods are being removed. Reddit has had major problems for years and their moderators are HUGE part of it. The sooner the old mods go the better. I bet OP has removed hundreds or even thousands of posts and users with impunity and no second thoughts. They are only upset now that the same treatment they have given out so freely has now happened to them. It's really poetic justice in my opinion.
Drank the spez coolaid or just trolling? The landed gentry argument is BS. If you didn't like the mods, you could always go make your own community. It's not like there was just one subreddit for each topic.
Time to bully the new mods and spam the sub reddit with pictures of John Oliver
