Baldur’s Gate 3 countdown: Exact start time and date
Larian Studios has published the official start time for Baldur’s Gate 3, which is a global release and will be available to players around the world at the same time. Release times can be seen below:
8am PDT (Los Angeles)
11am EDT (New York/Quebec)
12pm BRT (Rio De Janeiro)
4pm BST (London)
5pm CST (Berlin)
1am, Aug. 4 (Sydney)
3am, Aug. 4 (Auckland)
Developer Larian has recommended players who have taken part in early access uninstall their game and delete their save files to avoid issues at launch. Unfortunately, players will have to wait until the release time to start their download of the full game as a Baldur’s Gate 3 preload is not available. The game is also quite large, over 100 GB, so make sure you give yourself plenty of time to download it before you start playing.
I got real hyped when the trailer came out, then I managed to mostly forget about it. Now I'm trying desperately to go back to the amnesia stage because I won't have a chance to play until next week. But at least if the download servers get swamped early on, I won't notice... 🤷
Amen. Folks seem to forgot the many other aspects that makes a game good in exchange of focusing on the least important aspect -- how well s/he will play the game.
Anyone know where the Linux version is? Steam only has Windows and Mac OS versions. GOG only has a Windows version.
I'm assuming there is a Linux version, because this has been posted on https://old.lemmy.world/c/linux_gaming . If that is incorrect, I can't understand why it would be posted here.
There is no linux version. Steam/Valve has been updating their proton versions to work with BG3. I would recommend using their 'proton experimental.' If you buy from GOG, you can use Lutris, they have a runner that should install everything needed to run BG3, and it also lists some tweaks to make.
I get the open source support part of your comment, but you are taking out the fact Steam/Valve has done a lot ...A LOT...to get games working on Steam. Additionally, for the first time every they have driving Linux marketshare higher than MacOS as a result. So, to dismiss them completely is wrong. They have done a lot for linux....and linux gaming.
