generally is it an acceptable practice to daisy chain USB HDs and SSDs to a powered hub instead of using an enclosure?

I need the mobility sometimes due to work and studies, and I already bought 2-3 external HDs some years ago. for the moment i will have to put up with a usb hub.

i am worried about the safety of data storage though.

could it damage the laptop and the usb ports potentially if i daisy chain 3 usb HDs to a powered usb hub (12v 3a total input, 6 sockets 5 v 900ma (max), 4 sockets 5v 1.5a (max) ), connect that to a 3.2 usb socket, and then use another 3.2 socket for a 1.5a external portable SSD? would that simply demand too much power and cause problems?

I have 3 external USB HDs from 2017s. 3x 1tb WD passport and WD elements.

1 external SSD Samsung 1tb T7.

Plz advice me, thank you!
