  Funnily enough, that was my most listened song from them! I got to see them do it live during the Spicy Meatball Tour, and his voice is fucking (fucking) POWERFUL!!!

- I feel like I need to revisit Yellowcard, one of their albums got heavy play in my early teenagehood.
  
  They just went back on limited tour for 20th anniversary of Ocean Avenue and I got to finally see them in concert. It was amazing. They also said that they were thinking about coming out with some new stuff.

For me Delain is my top artist, and Surgery from The Vincent Black Shadow was my top song!

  I thought exactly the same, if GuyDudeman isn't in his mid thirties I'd be stunned.

For the first time in many years I've no EDM in my top five....feels weird. And apparently, I like A Day to Remember a lot more than I thought.
- What were your other top genres? Why do you think you've transitioned away from EDM? I feel like I've been slowly listening to EDM more over the years (and pop is always my staple), but this year R&B managed to sneak its way into my top five.
  
  Why? Access probably. I get exposed to a lot of EDM from friends and I do really love it a lot. My favorite right now is Apashe.
  On the flip side, I'm older. Radio is gone far as I'm concerned so my rock/metal taste have just kind of sat there until this year I got annoyed and for a while made a concerted effort to find new music I like. But now that list has sort of stagnated again. I just don't have the time.
  Radio sucked, and continues to suck. But it did act like a kind of filter for the previous generations. With it gone those few of us who are still interested in new music have a harder time.

I recently switched to hyperpipe and YouTube, but anyway

  Reasonable! I usually need music to focus on work. I also have music going any time I'm driving, for sure. And sometimes I even have it going when I sleep--although, I don't think I did a lot of night music in 2023. Definitely more 2022. I think my number was in the 180s last year, maybe because I've been watching more Youtube videos this year. I should cut Youtube out and go back to music--probably a healthier use of my time lol.

Bit of a mixed bag. Arctic monkeys and fall out boy makes sense as top 2. I think my music taste varies wildly enough that Katy Perry and P!nk must have just sneaked in there over other artists.

I've always loved the band Lydia, here is mine.
- Bit of a pet peeve for me that the recap slide at the end doesn't give the artist for the names of the songs. There are many songs out there with the same title.
  I've been listening a lot of a song called "Box of Bones" recently for example, but mine isn't from a pop punk band.

- Wow, I recently got into breakcore and Chill Breakcore sound so nice.
  Edit: Chrysalis from Purity Filter got me goosebumps just from listening.

  While breakcore and sextrance/freeform trance have common influences, Purity Filter leans definetly more on the latter side

I usually listen to everything just a little bit.I also listen to untracked mixes on youtube like JAZZ PL concerts and 飛行船の上のシンセサイザー弾き Of course there isn't good way to share wrapped in English. My genre is Japanese Jazz Fusion.

Top artist is The Tedeschi Trucks band, no surprise there. Best God damn band on tour right now. Listened to them so much this year as I got tickets to one of their shows this past July.
It was a good year of listening for me.

I'm a little surprised that Cake topped my list this year. I don't recall listening to them more than the Gorillaz.

I've got two, from Spotify and Apple Music.
Both have Steps as my favourite artist which mostly isn't surprising. The top song on the two differ, though - for Spotify it's Samo mi se spava by Serbian singer Luke Black, and Apple Music it's Twisted by Australian prog metal band Voyager. Both artists entered Eurovision 2023, though Twisted wasn't the entry.
Awaiting ListenBrainz's which'll be released in the new year, as that will have some of the most accurate data, as it includes things from my local library

Apparently I listen like I'm British and I'm not sure whether to take that as a compliment or an insult.

Apparently Reptilia by The Strokes and I Am the Highway by Audioslave were approximately equal and I am in the top .05% of Marcy Playground listeners.

Did the same thing with King Gizz this year as I did QOTSA in 2020. Find them around September, listen to them almost exclusively for the rest of the year, and end up in the top 0.5% or better

I really didn’t listen to much music this year. I guess not engaging in my main hobby that let me listen to music as much really hindered my listening time.

Marsh has been on a mad run this year doing All-night long 5 hour sets across the UK and USA.
- Tritonal and Above & Beyond! Are the kids still smearing Vicks on each other? Good times.
  
  The scene is still good, I'm not clued up on the Vicks but from searching no, it's not common at all now but rolling is still 90% of the crowd. Went to a Stu Allen memorial show last week with my mates dad, the 50s crowd still got it, glow sticks and whistles.
  More Anjunadeep these days for me. Jody Wisternoff (Way out west) and James Grant (Jonos Brother). They luckily do a lot of shows near me so it's quite available but we travel for them.
  Never been to a tritonal event or artist show actually, quite new to me these.

FYI Apple Music does something similar that is also out
