Also doesn’t hurt if we are all supporting this show both by being vocal online and (if people
can afford it) supporting with our wallets. Physical blu-ray (my preference after how much digital and streaming has messed us around) or digital sales.
What a great first peek. I love seeing the Doctor. I'm happy to see this clip's release, but I'm staying with cautiously optimistic about the where and when of Prodigy's future home and seasons, and the availability for viewing of season 2. Leaning towards optimistic because someone had to give permission to release the clip. Paramount+ maybe? Until Prodigy has a new home, I'm guessing that Paramount+ owns the rights to Prodigy.
I don't doubt that there are parties interested in carrying the show. They would gain a show with a preexisting, supportive fan base and become a part of the Star Trek realm.
All in all, an impressive response by Star Trek fans to Prodigy and the creative team's poor treatment by Paramount+. Go team Star Trek fans!
Is this marketing ahead of landing in its new home, or has Paramount decided to reverse its decision for streaming at leas? (It pretty clear that Nickelodeon can’t afford it for linear.)
My 8-year-old daughter loves Prodigy, and we've started dipping into Voyager (after 50,000 rewatches of every Lower Decks episode except the Billups one), and she loves it, but every time Harry Kim is on screen she lets out this teenagery exaggerated groan of annoyance (I've never connected more with another human being). I'm so hoping he shows up on Prodigy because it would be hilarious how angry she'd be.
If there's going to be more voyager characters I really hope Neelix gets a cameo for an episode. I'd love to see him back in the kitchen with Jankom taste testing lol
I confess I was up later than I should have been putting pixels on our StarTrek Canvas space. When I saw that breaking, I knew folks here would want the news asap.
When the cancellation was reported, it was also said that the second season would be completed, and that the studio was actively shopping the series around for a buyer.
I would suspect it's because everyone has their own, individual tastes, and even for the people who prefer PRO, most of them don't feel the childish need to disparage another show they like less or dislike.
