Image uploading broken?

Hi,

I just tried to upload an image to a (remote) community via the sdf instance and got a JSON syntax error message.

Also tried using Jerboa and got a "network error".

Is something broken?

I had the same thing happen a couple days ago, trying to upload an image to lemmy.ca from this account.
- I don't know if it's relevant, but I was posting to feddit.uk.
  
  Is there a file size limit?
- There appears to be a 1MB(?) upload limit. See my reply below.
Try to compress it. So far all that I compressed below 1MB went through, but I don't know what the actual limit may be.
- I was able to post an image by making it smaller, so yes, there appears to be some kind of limit.
  
  That's going to be a pain for users. Wouldn't it be better to allow a larger upload and have the server scale it down?
  
  At the very least, a proper error message, instead of a JSON parsing error!
  
  I'd rather not see that done on server side.
  
  Instead it could be already implemented in the website so that you only actually upload the processed image.
